The large gatherings ban is still in place. More than 10 people are not allowed gather in a single location unless there is at least six feet between each person. With Executive Order 05.12.20.02, live performance venues, bars, nightclubs, and operators of amusement park rides must remain closed through May 31. It will enhance health outcomes and give us the opportunity to prepare for safe reopening in the near future. Public Safety is vital to the city of Fort Valley

The City of Fort Valley's public safety services are made up the police department and fire department, both supported by the Peach County EMS and the Countywide Emergency 911 System.

The Fort Valley Fire Department has been recognized as one of the best small town fire departments in the state and operates from two centrally located stations. The stations are staffed by 13 full time firefighters and 13 volunteers.

Ambulance service is provided by the Peach County EMS which operates a fleet of modern, well-equipped ambulances staffed by training emergency medical technicians.
